Microsoft Introduces Built-In Network Speed Test for Windows 11

Microsoft is adding a new network speed test feature to Windows 11, accessible directly from the taskbar. This tool is part of an update being rolled out to Windows 11 Insiders.

Microsoft is currently developing several new features for Windows 11, one of which is a built-in network speed test. This new tool can be accessed from the taskbar and is included in an update that is being rolled out to Windows 11 Insiders in the Release Preview Channel.

Accessing the Speed Test

Users will be able to right-click the network icon located in the system tray to find the speed test option. This feature opens in the user's default web browser, allowing them to evaluate the speed of their internet connection. The speed test will provide data on connection speeds over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data.

According to a report by The Verge, Microsoft initially began testing this feature earlier, and it is now becoming more widely available through the current update. This addition aims to enhance user experience by providing a quick and easy way to measure internet performance directly from the operating system.
